Let’s Update these Bunnies.

Spring will be here before you know it. It’s time to grab out your Spring-Easter decor and see what needs refreshed. This is an easy technique to small bunnies or chicks that you may have that are bright pink or chipped this process will update the color and disguise those imperfections. As in my case I found these bunnies and I thought they were cute however they were not in the best shape, and drab I knew I wanted to update them. My goal was to keep them Neutral and add some texture. I instantly thought of the Baking Soda method this process is easy, and the results are Fantastic.

First thing you will want to do is pour out the color you have chosen on a plate, bowl, or as I have used a piece of tinfoil add a scoop of Baking Soda and start to fold the powder into the paint. You are going to want it to be the consistency of toothpaste. If you don’t get it right the first time its ok its very forgiving. You can add water if it gets too thick or add powder if it’s still too thin.

Don’t overthink this there is no right or wrong in this process.

You are going to add the paint thicker than you would regular paint and Depending on the colors you use you may have to put 2-3 coats of your mixture on your surface. One call out is always brush the same way unless you want the looks of lines going different directions. Be sure that your coats are dry before adding additional coats of mixture. As you can see this is so easy and once your surface has dried and you have put all your coats on you can see the texture that was created. I used 2 coats and I found that to be perfect since the color underneath was pretty light to start with.

This process is quick and easy, these bunnies only took me 10 minutes to complete.

You can create this texture on any surface. Metal, Resin, Wood, Cement, Or Porcelain. One of my favorite surfaces to use this on is a terracotta flowerpot, it elevates the pots and looks Amazing.

Let me know if you try this and send over some pictures to our social media so we can feature your project in our stories.
