Let’s make a Napkin Bunny Sign.

These are the supply’s you will need to make this bunny sign.

*Spring Napkin

*Scrap wood

*2 Foam brushes

*Your choice of paint

*Mod Podge

*Sandpaper or block

This block is a 6” x 6” wood block. I reused this from another project if you look closely, you can see there are hints of snowflakes. So, you don’t need a new piece of wood. it could be scrap wood or a sign you are no longer using.

I choose black as my block color because I wanted the white napkin to be toned down also, I wanted to keep this neutral. If you want your block to stand out use a light color.

Cut your napkin as close to your block size as possible however it doesn’t have to be perfect, we will make sure it fits perfect in a couple of steps.

Be sure your paint is dry before you add your Mod Podge.

Add an even amount of Mod Podge also make sure you get it on all 4 corners.

Lay your napkin on your block and use your fingers to smooth it out, it won’t be super smooth as you can see in the picture however work on getting the big air bubbles out. Once its dry you will see a lot of the imperfections go away. Be gentle in this process so you don’t rip your napkin.

Wait a couple of hours for the mod podge to dry and once it is use your sandpaper to carefully get off the excess.

Once you have the excess off of the napkin, take your foam brush that you used to paint your block and go over all for sides to give a worn aged look. If you use a light color on your wood grab a dark grey, brown, or black to achieve this look.

Once your paint is dry you will want to add a topcoat of modge podge to seal your napkin.

In this last process be gentle as you apply the topcoat as the napkin can rip very easy.

This is such a cute shelf sitter. You can see the black pops threw the white napkin. This adds dimension and texture.

I hope this little craft gives you some inspiration to make some shelf sitters. You can use this technique for any season.
