Homemade Brown Sugar

Here is what you will need to create fresh homemade brown sugar.

Have you ever made homemade brown sugar?

It’s amazing how it will elevate your recipes. This does not take long at all, and you only need two ingredients.

Grab White granulated sugar and Molasses (Any Brand will work).

You will also need:

*Measuring cup

*Medium size bowl

*Tablespoon

*Mason jar with lid

*Stand mixer (If you don’t have a stand mixer you can use a hand mixer however the stand mixer makes it so much easier)

I make my Brown sugar 2 cups at a time however you can make less or more.

Measure out 2 cups of granulated white sugar, then pour into your bowl.

You will need to add two tablespoons of Molasses on top of your granulated sugar be sure to get it all off the spoon as you don’t want to leave any of this richness behind.

Once you have both ingredients in the bowl use a spoon to hand mix it together, do this for a minute or so then transfer it to your stand mixer bowl. Turn your mixer on medium speed and let it mix for 3-4 minutes. You will see it come together quickly however let it mix for the entire time.

Here you can see how fluffy this brown sugar has become it’s the air that gets into the brown sugar and makes it full and fluffy. It looks so rich and fresh.

I always store my brown sugar in a mason jar with a lid. This will keep it super fresh.

As you can see this is so easy and not expensive at all to make. You will notice a big difference when you bake with it.

One trick if your brown sugar gets hard put a piece of bread into the container over night and it will be as good as new the next day.
